Download, fill in, improve.
One monthly cycle, three templates.
Most planning teams forecast, measure and correct every month. The templates follow that cycle and share the same product hierarchy, so the output of one feeds the next.
Forecast
Build the monthly SKU forecast next to its history and check it year on year. Demand forecasting template →
Measure
After the month closes, compare forecast with actual sales and separate supply problems from forecast error. Forecast accuracy template →
Correct
Find the SKUs and regions that are consistently over- or under-forecast, and fix the biggest first. Forecast bias template →
Questions about the templates.
What is a demand planning template?
A spreadsheet that holds sales history and the forecast by product and month, and measures how well past forecasts matched actual sales. Planners use it to agree the numbers that drive purchasing, production and inventory.
Which template should I start with?
Start with the demand forecasting template to build the monthly forecast. Once a month, use the forecast accuracy template to score last month's forecast and the bias template to catch consistent over- or under-forecasting.
Are the templates really free?
Yes. Each download asks for a few details in a short form, then the Excel file downloads straight away.
Do the templates work in Google Sheets?
They are built for Microsoft Excel. They open in Google Sheets, but some charts, filters and formatting may not carry over.
Is there an S&OP template?
Yes. The S&OP template runs the monthly cycle at product-family level: demand review, supply review, inventory projection, revenue and gross profit against the AOP, and an executive summary with a decisions log.
Planamind does all of this automatically.
Forecasting with 12 models, accuracy and bias measured every cycle, and ranked recommendations on where the forecast can improve, updated every time the plan changes.
